High Quality Recordings / Recordiau Safon Uchel
High Quality Recordings was an imaginary record label that existed for seven years between 2002 and 2008. The label was initially set up to release my own musical output; it received early support from Huw Stephens and Bethan Elfyn who played a Stabmaster Vinyl track on their Radio 1 in Wales show, which was followed soon after by a session. The Stabmaster ended up doing a further two Radio 1 sessions, for Beth & Huw and then for Huw's UK-wide show on Radio 1 which was recorded live at the 'world famous' (TM) Maida Vale studios.
Over the years the label has also been featured on Welsh language television's 'Sioe Gelf' programme ('The Art Show' - like BBC2's The Culture Show, only better), picked up rave reviews in magazines such as The Wire, and was featured as Radio 1's 'DIY label of the week'. Releases on the label have played on proper and internet radio all over the world including WFMU, Resonance FM and some wild and obscure shows in Eastern Europe and North Wales. After fifty releases the label came to an end.
